Prologue

With the hope of establishing a science base on Mars, the National Science Board assembles a group of four brave astronauts to travel to the red planet. Scientist Doc, Captain Mac, one assistant and BB, the student winner of the Space Lottery, will be travelling to Mars in the Solar Explorer - the very latest in Rocket Ship technology.

Chapter One – BLAST OFF

As everybody boards the space rocket, BB Waves at his family as they say goodbye. Captain Mac has been on the most space missions of all time. Doc and his assistant Bob want to see if people can colonize mars. Soon after they enter they put on space seatbelts and the engines roar to life. Cameras flash everywhere and the giant LCD timer ticks down as crowds of people cheer. Dozens of people look on their televisions excited for the spaceship to launch.

LIFT OFF!!

Chapter Two – HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM

They rose up into the air and soonly went to space. Once in space they could take off their seatbelts. Even though it felt like they weighed like a ton they could freely float in space because there is no gravity. Soon all of a sudden there was a meteor belt interfering with their plans to go to mars. They couldn’t stop in time and got hit with the meteors.

They all were screaming because they couldn’t move. The solar explorer is being hit with hurricane winds and the computers are going crazy. All the screens were flashing and had tons of strange symbols. “WE’VE LOST CONNECTION WITH NASA!” yelled Doc.

They are going in a huge zigzag pattern and the crew is holding on to their seats trying not to fly out of the cockpit.

Chapter 2.5 – First Transmission

Captain Mac-

The Lights are [chhhht] out. BB is screaming his head off. A large meteor has slammed into the ship. Flames are shooting from the fuel tank and in the flicke[zzzct]ring light we see Mars approaching fast.
This may be our last transmission. Solar Explorer is on a direct collision course with the red [CHNT]planet...

Chapter 3 – Crash Landing

Captain's Log

Solar Explorer is on a crash course with Mars. We have dim emergency lighting only and no computer back up. The fuel tank is still on fire and choking smoke is filling the cabin. We are running out of water.

Solar Explorer is entering the Martian atmosphere. The ship feels like its breaking apart. Control is difficult to maintain. The planet surface is rushing closer and it's up to me to land the ship safely. I don’t know if we will make it. It is hard but it think I’m doing it. No... I AM DOING IT!!

We were lucky. The ship made a safe, if rocky, landing on the surface of Mars. Doc reports no one was hurt, though BB was pretty shaken up.

The Solar Explorer didn't survive the crash quite so well. There's a tear in the side of the fuel tank and not a drop of rocket fuel left. Unless there's an all-night rocket fuel station over the next hill... we're stranded here. I don't even know if this broadcast is reaching Earth, but I'll keep transmitting. Doc, BB, and I are heading out to search for water - without it, we won't last long on Mars!

 Chapter 4 – Mars Exploration
We were only about a kilometer from the ship when we were hit by a violent dust storm. Our helmets protected BB and me, and Doc was safe in the T3-Trike. But we couldn't see a thing and had to go slow to avoid falling into craters. Doc says Mars gets these storms from time to time - he once tracked a storm as big as the whole South Atlantic Ocean!

When the storm cleared out, I saw that BB had disappeared. We forgot about the water because we have to find him! His tracks in the dust head west, so we're following them. But the terrain is rough and dangerous - a single mistake and we could be in even worse trouble!

While searching for water on Mars, we encountered a violent dust storm. When it was over, BB was gone, and Captain Mac and I have been seeking him ever since. We have been following a trail of huge, square footprints, like nothing I have ever seen before. There can now be no doubt: someone, or something, is with us on Mars.

Chapter 5 - ALIENS!

As the bright sun rose over the sandy reddish-orange hills, I spotted strange tracks in the desert sand. They were nothing like the ones I had seen before. Me and my crew followed them and came across a strange orange tanktop. It wasn't like a tank top though. It had no pattern on it or design. It was more like a tight onesie with build-in socks, no sleves, and had a strange stud on it. All of a sudden whilst carrying it towards the footprints I saw a strange thing in the distance.

I thought I could be BB so I chased it. It didn't know what it was and it wasn't scary. It was riding a strange hovering vehicle.  It was friendly-looking turquoise green. Its eyes were tired and had no breathing respirator. It started screaming as I ran into it. We both fell down and doc helped me up. The thing was cowering in a ball on the ground, crying.
